The Public Education Committee is made up of the teams top educators in the field of search prevention. Members of the committee have received formal education in Education Methodology and have considerable experience in outdoor education. Many have taught and guided hiking, backpacking, white water rafting, and climbing trips. Many of the committee members work for community colleges as local level instructors teaching search and rescue skills, rope rescue, water rescue, and wilderness medical classes. Committee members are certified through the Pennsylvania Department of Health as First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics. The members have also upgraded their medical training in the appropriate wilderness medical upgrades - Wilderness EMT and Wilderness ALS certifications.
